Football Manager 26

For people looking for saves to play over the Christmas period and ones that fit the theme of this time of year this is the list for you.

As the holiday season ramps up, the team at the Sporting Loft is getting rather creative with their Football Manager save ideas.

For people looking for saves to play over the Christmas period and ones that fit the theme of this time of year, this is the list for you.

Here, the Sporting Loft presents the top five Christmas-themed saves you should play on Football Manager 26.

FC Santa Claus

We start in the sixth tier of Finland with FC Santa Claus, who are based in the city of Rovaniemi.

Their festive name stems from the legend that Rovaniemi is the home of Santa and their decision to use the English translation of the name has given the club historic publicity.

The highest the club have ever been is the third tier of Finnish football, with FC Santa Claus narrowly missing out on second tier promotion as recently as 2010.

Financial troubles have plagued the club for many years and they will require a manager with patience and astute transfer knowledge.

CAUTION: This will require the use of a custom database as the base game does not exceed beyond the Finnish second tier.

Lynx FC

The staple of every male Christmas is being given a Lynx set that just so happened to match the one they received the year before.

Now despite their being no correlation between Lynx FC and the deodorant brand, the challenge of Lynx remains an interesting proposition.

Based in Gibraltar, the club have yet to finish higher than third in the top flight and have also never won the Rock cup.

Can you dethrone the ever impressive Lincoln Red Imps and bring home the first piece of silverware for Lynx FC?

Bodo Glimt

A club that has taken on huge success in recent years and one with recent European pedigree is Bodo Glimt.

The Norwegian club is based in the Arctic circle and has managed to create a fortress in Europe allowing the club to progress all the way to the Europa League semi-finals last season.

Bodo narrowly missed out on the 2025 Eliteserien title by a single point to Viking FK, so they will be hungry for revenge under your management.

Can you take a club from near Santa’s workshop in the North Pole to domestic and European glory?

Bottom at Christmas

We often hear that being bottom at Christmas is a death sentence for many club’s Premier League survival hopes, with Wolves potentially joining a long list of those affected by this curse.

The premise of the save is simple.

Skip forward to December 25th and take over the team that is rooted to the foot of the Premier League table and try to keep them up.

You can make the challenge more difficult by adding no new signings in January and fighting your way through the season with only the players initially given to you.

Are you up for the challenge?

Gift giving

As it is the season of giving after all, here is a unique challenge that will force you to produce success at two different clubs.

Within this save the objective is to bring up a lower league outfit via the use of affiliate loans and ‘gifts’ from transfer fees.

Success will be measured on how well your affiliate club performs and the save can be deemed complete should the club win a major trophy.

You can keep your ‘gifts’ as realistic or unrealistic as you like but importantly you CANNOT take control of your affiliate outfit at any point during the save.

Do you have what it takes to bring two teams to the top?
