The football shirt collecting space has gathered immense popularity in recent years with the growth of shirts as a genuine fashion product and influencer promotion.
The expansion of Classic Football Shirts and the success of creators such as AwayDays have created a large consumer base and multiple new collectors who share their purchases online.
Reissues have become a highlight for many collectors as typically retro shirts can sky rocket in price to unattainable levels due to rarity.
Here at the Sporting Loft we take you through some of the best reissued shirts of the last half decade.
2006 Argentina Adidas reissue
The most recent reissue on the list and one marking a 20 year anniversary is the strip that Argentina donned at the 2006 world cup.
Worn by the likes of Juan Roman Riquelme and a young Lionel Messi, the kits remain one of the finest Adidas international products.
A navy blue away shirt compliments the traditional light blue and white stripe of the national team and is a strong relic of an iconic world cup and iconic players.
With Messi winding down his career, I would anticipate that further reissues will appear with the Argentinian’s name as collector’s items for such a storied name.

1999/2000 Real Madrid Adidas reissue
Staying on the Adidas theme we have a 25 anniversary reissue for Real Madrid’s Champions League winning side of 2000.
Los Blancos would triumph 3-0 over Valencia in the final with a star studded lineup including the likes of Roberto Carlos, Raul and Fernando Redondo.
Both Real’s traditional white and Black and Gold kit were reissued with names such as Raul and Redondo donning the back of the shirt bringing back nostalgia of the Argentine’s backheel at Old Trafford.
The simple clean design with a lack of intrusive modern sponsors give collectors a relic of one the Spanish outfit’s greatest sides.
2001/02 Brescia Garman reissue
A club without much mainstream attention in the modern day, Brescia were chosen for a reissue centered around a season with plenty of superstars in their ranks.
The 2001/02 season saw the likes of Pep Guardiola, Roberto Baggio and Luca Toni plying their trade for the club as they finished 13th in Serie A.
Three reissued shirts were released with a white home strip, a blue away shirt and a yellow third kit all available with a signature V shape draped from the neck.
A unique collection and one with huge footballing history, the Brescia reissue is an essential purchase for footballing historians who enjoy the stories outside of Europe’s elite.
